How to change default preset settings?

Post by rumblenaut » Fri Aug 12, 2016 5:58 pm

Hi all, I have been exploring the moog for a while now and can't seem to find how to change the default settings for a preset. I wanted the mod wheel to be set to 100% for the mod busses, and have to do it every time manually which can be a pain.

Any ideas? Thanks!

I wanted the opposite. I.e. mod wheel at 0%, so I did as I usually do, which is making my own init patch. I based it on the init patch from Moog, saving it in an easy to remember slot (e.g. bank 16, patch 16) to have as my personal starting point.

Ummm, what instrument?

For the Sub 37, if you really need it, there's an off-line manual procedure using a .syx file. Amos said this on the Beta support forum:
actually you can change the init preset. :)

take any single-preset sysex file and edit the sysex:

the header begins
F0 04 0C 05 ...
or
F0 04 0C 02 ...

or similar... the 4th byte (the one after 0C) sets the sysex type.

Change this 4th byte to 09 and then send the sysex to the Sub 37. That preset will now be loaded when you do an INIT on the hardware. (however, I think the Editor will still use the original/default "init" preset)
Personally, I use the good Doctor's 16.16 approach, and have several starting-point "template" patches in that bank.
