Midi in jack too recessed. Self fixable?

Post by jldunne » Tue Feb 16, 2016 3:14 pm

Hi,

I just went to use a midi in rather than USB midi and find the jack is slightly recessed more than midi out jack and off center as well. This prevents midi cable lock and falls out. I use my Sub 37 live and can't really be without for awhile to send back so was wondering if any adventurous souls had taken a peek inside and if It might be easy to re-seat the jack properly ?

The top midi out jack is an integrated part of the left side shield & cannot be adjusted.
The bottom midi in jack is an integrated part of the main sound PCB & cannot be adjusted.

Suggested Instructions below:

1 - Register your Moog unit at http://www.moogmusic.com/content/register-product
2 - create an RMA for your Moog Unit to get the attention of service http://www.moogmusic.com/content/register-product
3 - take a phone picture of the jacks demonstrating the alignment problem & send to Moog service as part of your service correspondence
4 - when you receive the replacement side shield & with unit powered off, remove all left hand screws, remove wood side, remove aluminum cover plate, remove side shield & replace, reinstall all screws & cover plate, then wood side.

In the interim for the show, you might remove aluminum cover plate by itself to be able to access the jack directly.
