Solar Phatty Looking for the right Owner

Post by _DemonDan_ » Fri Aug 07, 2015 4:02 pm

Hi Gang,

I've been given an ultimatum at home and have to thin out my keyboard collection.

It'll hurt less to part with my Solar Phatty if I know it's going to someone who gets why it's special.
(See threads on the subtle sonic differences between the Littles and the Subs.)

The Solar Phatty has an Orange Back, Yellow & Red LEDS, Black End Caps,
plus the all-important GATE, PITCH, MOD BUSS, VOLUME ENV, and FILTER ENV CV Outputs:
http://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/PhattySWCVor

It's in excellent condition, has the original box, original manuals, the latest OS, and I'll throw in a bunch of swag
(Moog stickers, sunglasses, pocket protector, pencils, buttons, notebook, etc.).

I'll even swap backs if you'd rather have a silver back, and end caps if you'd rather have grey than black.

PM me if you keep wishing you had a Little Phatty with CV Outs.

I think we should form a secret club to exchange experiences of partners pressuring us to do this or that in relation to our synth passion, maybe even exchange tips on how to neutralise such pressure ;-)

I've got my man (synth) cave, and still I'm not free to do what I want in here ("I hate those cardboard boxes", etc..)

Life..

My best tip for guitarists and keyboardists:

Have an old, beat up case/bag that you don't need for any of your gear.

Bring it in and out of the house occasionally (with the rest of your gear) when you gig/jam.

Use it to smuggle new gear into the house.

I put wood side panels on every piece of gear that I purchase, because if it all looks the same, my wife doesn't know what's new and whats not. I'm making ash side panels for my MS-20 as we speak.

My strategy is to have so much stuff that my wife never notices a new thingy or two. Or to complain about how many pairs of shoes she has.

For me, the condition is: "if you enter something else must leave at least something of equal size .... "

I love this idea :-)

I built studio in the basement. It has an double air-lock, for a total or three doors with 2x5/8" sheetrock on each door. They're so heavy to open she's only been in four times in the last 5 years :-)

I would love you have your Solar Phatty _DemonDan_, but I got a white on of my dreams.

I must be lucky because I don't have to do any of those things when I get a new toy. I've even had stuff shipped to her workplace.

I tell her it is going to be one helluvan estate sale someday.

I have a very supportive spouse who also plays music. She appreciates my good taste in quality makers, and even claims the nicest guitar in the house as her own. Still, there are limits that maintaining a household will put upon our GAS, and I'm at mine (having just moved into a house that needs furnishing). My studio just went from an entire room, down to a set of Ikea shelves on the third floor. :(

Still, I wish I could give that Solar Synth its 'forever home'. Oh well. 8)

If any forum members PM me, I'd be happy to send pics showing how beautiful it looks under the light.

I can even send pics of all the swag if it's important:
(Moog stickers, sunglasses, pocket protector, pencils, buttons, notebook, wrist band, etc.)

I'll wait a little longer before going to eBay.
