Sustain Pedal

Post by luczak » Mon Apr 27, 2015 2:49 pm

Good evening
I have been trying to get sustain pedal working with sub 37.
So far no luck
I have tried the EP 2
Has anyone tried or is bothered about sustaining the keys.?

What are you connecting the pedal to? GATE in?

*EDIT* Have you tried changing the polarity of the pedal? Should trigger a note when pressed if connected to the Gate in jack. See http://forum.moogmusic.com/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=22632

Hmmm... the EP2 is an expression pedal, isn't it?
You need a momentary footswitch pedal.

I have two damper style-pedals, and the Sub37 wants to see a different polarity than the Studiologic controller. Lucky for me, these pedals have a switch on the back to change the setting, so I can use them for either board. YMMV.

Hi luczak,

You will have better luck when v1.1 is released as the GATE CV IN jack will be able to be mapped to Sustain Pedal (SUST PED).

Currently, that jack will only keep the Envelopes triggered, which has similarities to, but is not exactly like Sustain (especially if you're using the Sub 37 as a MIDI controller).

After installing v 1.1, you will be able to go to GLOBAL MENU / CV MAPPING / GATE and change the value to SUST PED.

You'll even be able to adapt the GATE CV IN jack to whichever polarity your sustain pedal has via a GLOBAL MENU / CV MAPPING / GATE INVERT parameter.

Thanks for the info.
I did try an old fatal pedal last night a ps100 which worked in the reverse mode.
Interestingly it only worked with some presents.
That would back up your comments about how the pedals worked.
So looking forward to 1.1.

Good afternoon
Updated to 1.1 set sus ped as suggested.
It sort of works.
Some presets it doesn't work.
What happens is,if you play a sequence and depress the sustain pedal only the last note sustains.
Is this what should happen. For some reason I was expecting by depressing the sustain in would maintain the preset sequence.
I have tried with both settings on my pedal but it doesn't make any difference.
Hope someone can put me straight on this
Thanks
