Power Tools for Synthesizer Programming - Book

Chemishev wrote:Hi _DemonDan_ and many thanks for the tips! I've been reading the Sound Synthesis & Sampling book by Martin Russ and I find it very educational, however, it is covering more basic stuff about synthesis. The tips that you've posted are exactly what I'm looking for! Could you please give me advice for a good and more in-depth book or tutorials/videos about synthesis?
Hi Chemishev,
Thanks! The book I always recommend is:

Power Tools for Synthesizer Programming: The Ultimate Reference for Sound Design
by: Jim Aikin (former Editor-In-Chief of Keyboard Magazine)

Jim hired me to be the proofreader for the book so I can honestly say that I fully agree with everything that's in it as well as its accompanying audio CD of examples. It's also the text book I require for my Music Synthesis courses at two universities.

Are you familiar with that version as well?

thanks for this info!!

Any other books anyone can recommend please?

Can any one else vouch for the books Marc Doty has blatantly promoted:
- Vintage Synthesizers: Pioneering Designers, Groundbreaking Instruments, Collecting Tips, Mutants of Technology
- The Synthesizer: A Comprehensive Guide to Understanding, Programming, Playing, and Recording the Ultimate Electronic Music Instrument

Thanks Dan! I´ll be waiting for the 2nd edition in february!

Can you recommend a patchbook? That´s probably what I need the most!

Also, have you thought about doing an online synthesis course or write a book of your own? You´re so pedagogical! :D
