Is there a gate setting for the arpeggiator?

Is there a gate setting for the arpeggiator?
I can't find one in the manual.
Is the gate just always at 100%?
Can that be changed in a firmware update?

press and hold the PRESET button for 1 second to enter the Preset Edit menu. First menu item is ARPEGGIATOR; highlight it and press CURSOR to enter the submenu. First item on the Arpeggiator sub-menu is GATE LENGTH. All parameters on the Preset Edit menu are saved per-preset.

Thanks Amos!
Just a small suggestion, I really like manipulating the gate width live, if there were anyway to make it more quickly accessible and have it be controlled by a knob (maybe the arp knob somehow) that would be awesome. But again, just a small suggestion...

Hi epignosis567,

My best suggestion would be to become good friends with the Sub 37 Owner's Manual. The answer to both your question and your suggestion about arpeggiator gate lengths, along with many other cool surprises, can be found there.

For example, whenever you're wondering if there's something you can "manipulate", just go to page 44 of the Owner's Manual. There you will find a list of everything that you can manipulate (modulate) via a wide range of control sources (and they can be found on page 43).

So, for example: On page 44 you'll see that there is a control destination that does Arpeggiator Gate Length (ARP GLEN).

And on page 43, you'll see that there is a control source called CONTSTANT ON.

If you set a MOD's Control Source to CONSTANT ON, and its Control Destination to ARP GLEN, and then set MOD WHEEL to +100%, you will now be able to change your arpeggiator's gate width live (as requested) by moving the Mod Wheel up and down.

Or, instead of setting the MOD WHEEL parameter to 100%, set it to 0% and change CTRL4 AMT to 100%. Now you can use any external MIDI controller that sends CC#4 to change your ARP GLEN in realtime.

Thanks! Just got the manual yesterday so haven't had a chance to read everything yet.

Isn't there destinations for the envelopes which control their lengths? Stretch or compress them? Saw those on the Sub Phatty but can't remember their names!

Hmmmm, it's called EG TIME/PGM in the Sub 37 destination list!
