Slim White Noise

Post by BravoAlphaLima » Thu Nov 03, 2011 6:32 pm

Hello all, I was wondering if you could guide me to creating some White Noise on the Slim Phatty. I want to be able to save it as a preset.

How are you all liking the Slim?

hey ho,

white noise is even there in a factory preset called "hold4fizz".
check the advanced preset menu for that preset, and you'll find it there noise as a mod.source.
(and RTFM :) p.36. :D)
you could also plug in a sw radio into the audio-in and plug a dummy patch cable into the KB GATE :)
moog slim phatty, carbon copy mxr, electribe es-1, vermona drm-1, Doepfer A-125, A-106-5, A-143-9, MFOS 16-step sequencer, zoom h2

noise in the phatty internally is only available as a modulation source, not as a raw waveform.

the only way to patch a white noise as a raw waveform is from an external source.

Thanks guys,

I'll give it all a try. For on the fly, live situations, I'll probably use the "Hold4Fizz" preset and modify it a bit before I save it.

Cheers

I just ordered this board and all of the components thru Jameco: http://www.musicfromouterspace.com/inde ... 66&VPH=547 Everything was about $58. I have a kickass little metal project box that I have been waiting to put something into, this will probably fit perfectly.

Guessing it will really add some depth to my LP. As soon as I get it built and tested, I'll post some samples.

Check out this topic where I explained a white noise trick I use to get white noise on the LP or SP:

I use the CP-251's noise source through the Slim Phatty's audio input. Works great!
