SP responding to Sustain (CC64)?

Post by CaptainKeytar » Mon Feb 21, 2011 1:55 pm

Hello,

Is there a way to make the SP respond to Sustain messages (CC64) from my external controller, a Roland AX-7? I know it has a KB Gate CV input, but I play standing up and don't have an extra pedal to spare (nor extra feet to operate it, lest I take courses in hovering).

The MIDI indicator arrow shows up on the SP's display when it receives the control message. However, the SP just sits there and... ignores it.

Any suggestions?

I'm not sure the Phatty code responds to CC64. It's 'universal' General Midi and all but my Little Phatty w/ 2.2 code doesn't respond to it and there is nothing documented in any of the Phatty documentation (up through the latest SP release). I tried it with a StudioLogics 88 key with a Pedal that DOES work properly with Ivory.

I'd be happy to be wrong, however.

EMWhite is correct, it won't respond to 64.

Page 67 of the manual lists the CCs it will respond to:

1, 3-5, 6, 7, 9-11, 15,16, 18, 19, 21-31, 33, 36,
53, 65, 68, 69, 74, 75, 77, 88, 90, 91, 102-119

Sorry it's not better news.
