There is a dedicated Phatty Tuner app (for Mac and PC) in the works... should be ready very soon, perhaps later this week!
You'll need the Phatty Tuner software and a MIDI connection from your computer to the Phatty (the Phatty USB is fine for this), then you can create custom tunings in the Tuner software and send 'em to the Phatty via MIDI. The Phatty can store up to 31 custom tunings in its memory. Tunings are 12 notes/1 octave format, and any note can be pitched up to a semitone (100 cents) high or low vs. it's equal-tempered "default" pitch. This isn't perfect, as you can't do true microtonality (Harry Partch style, 43 notes to the octave) but you can do quite a lot within these limitations.

Stay tuned, Phatty Tuner release ASAP :)

This is cool, but I'd be a lot more exited if my LP had OS 3

I'm having the same problem. Scales sent to Slim Phatty are received and stored, but when I call one up, it has no effect on the tuning of the instrument. Anyone have success with this?

I have tested this working OK over here using the current Slim Phatty OS (v3.03 617) and current version scale editor available from our website.

Most of the preset tunings are very subtle, correcting only for the "customary" detuning created by 12TET (12-tone equal-temperament tuning). This is a VERY SMALL change that you will only hear clearly when you play interval notes at the same time and listen to the harmonies... something difficult to do on a monosynth. :-) Try the Siamese Clem tuning, it's very obvious. If it works, then they all work.

Better still, try using the Phatty Tuner to concoct your own tunings and have a listen!

Cheers,

Amos
