In preparation for the much waited for arrival of my SP I've been reading the manual to try to find this out: am I able to set the mod wheel to control filter cutoff in a given patch? e.g. add to or subtract a range of values?
Sure you can grab the knob on the panel, but with a lot of gear around it might not always be in reach.
I see the mod wheel by default affects modulation amount, but surely I would be able to do filter sweeps with my controller's mod wheel?

Yes, modwheel commands work the same from other MIDI sources. It still controls the LFO amount.
