Hi all, I have a nice new-ish Etherwave, had it about a year now and had the common problem where I couldn’t get to zero beat, it would play a note no matter how far away I was from it. Searched online a little, went inside to adjust L6, now I’m afraid I broke the whole thing. Piercing high shriek no matter where I turn L6.

One confession, I used a metal hex wrench to turn L6 because I couldn’t find any tool that came with it. Could I have shorted something out? I was careful not to force anything, but L6 seems to spin freely forever in either direction - how many turns does L6 allow, is this a sign that it is broken? What do? Thank you so much -t

Hi Tim, its now one year after you have posted this issue with your Theremin. I don't think so that L6 is broken.
May i know did you find any solution for that?
Else, you can try turning the L6 while the Theremin is powered on. You should connect the power pin while the theremin cover is open. With few trial and errors if you get the zero beat. Then it is ok. Better use some plastic tool which fits into the slot and never use metal hexagonals as some of them will be magnetic and will ruin up the coil's frequency.
