I have read that one should let the Etherwave warm up for a while. I have an Etherwave Plus, and I've noticed that the pitch field will expand for a while until it's warmed up.
I'm curious, though, about why this happens on a solid state device? Very interested in the forces at play here.

as far as i know, all that analog oscillator related stuff needs time to warm up. may it be a synth or theremins. i don't know for sure how much the capacitors are involved, but i'm pretty sure it's because the transistors warm up. the coils and the hf-transformers are temperature sensitive, so they change whenever the room temperature changes. that's why you have a winter and a summer tuning.
