Well I got that MIDIConnect4+ and it works great. Connected both the Behringer FCB foot controller and iPAD at the same time with no computer and things work fine. Set the Expression foot pedal to CC7 so I can control the volume with the foot pedal and use the Yamaha slider app with the left hand.

Working on my melodic playing in semi-quantized mode. No way I could play like this right now on the Etherwave.

I finally have my new album put together. You can stream it or download it at bandcamp. Payment is optional, but much appreciated My Moog Theremini is featured on tracks 1, 4 and 9. Almost everything else was created with various combinations of moogerfoogers, minifoogers and Slim Phatty, plus a few other devices. Track 11 was created with a 1965 Hammond E-111 organ.

Hi Rick,

I'll be honest here (I don't have to prove anything and I believe I have more to lose by lying)... I really like your album. I don't usually like 'ambient soundscapes', but in the case of your 'Calculated Risk' album, it's melodic to my ears. Anyways, hope you'll have fun doing more of that kind of stuff, some strangers (myself included) like it! -- Alex / Satri :-)

So here is a piece I arranged from an unknown Baroque composer (Johann Georg Thiel). Played the Theremini through an Electro-Harmonix Talking machine (lots of thereminists use this now days) to the orchestral MIDI score (created using the new Spitfire Mural String Ensemble Library, a bit of LA Strings and VSL Cembalo). Added the intro and the first violin part. Everything else is as in the original. Also ran it through Waves Tune to correct a few things.

As it turns out, not all theremins sound that good through the Talking Machine, but when you dial up a strong filtered/raspyTheremini sound with the app, it comes through well as a tenor-like voice on the Talking Machine set to an "AH" formant. It also turns out that the vibrato that the Theremini produces is quite nice for Baroque pieces (where you don't want a ton of vibrato).

So Theremini + Talking Machine = Perfect Together!

And here's the Theremini run through a Phaser for the "vocal" of a little jazz-like tune I wrote (PSP N2O Plugin on a Phased patch). Tried to get an old style recording sound.
