phaser dry /effect mix

Post by ebo » Mon May 10, 2010 1:19 pm

hi! is it possible to change the stomp switch of the MF102 to a pot? I want to mix the phaser with the dry signal .another question-why does the sweep in jack not working with the 6stage mode?
greets ebo.

I don't think it is that simple. You'd also need some sort of mixing circuitry within the unit to mix the wet and dry signals, and that is not built in already. It would probably be easier to just buy a small external mixer like this one:

...or use an FX Send from a mixing board if you have one.

Regarding your second question, the MF-103 has two sets of 6-stage phasing. The SWEEP INPUT controls the second set only. That's why you don't hear anything being changed while in 6-stage mode. In 12-stage mode this lets you modulate the two sets of phasing with different LFO rates.
Gear: Moog LP, Gibson LP, lots of FX

Phaser effects are All Pass filters with resonant "combs". The phasing effect occurs when this filtered signal is mixed with a dry signal (hence "phasing" between the two). Thus the resonance (sharpness of the combs) sets the intensity of the effect.
