Upgrading MuRFs and CP-style 'foogers: FYI

Just thought I'd share an email conversation from Ryan at Moog Music, so we don't all have to ask them

"With the 105Ms now shipping, what do you think the possibilities would be of getting old MuRFs upgraded to receive MIDI? I realise the knob CC and Bass/Mids switch would not be implementable, but how about note-triggering filters? I'm just considering selling my 105 and 105B but if there was an upgrade path available I (and probably many others) would consider this first."
Unfortunately an upgrade to the Midi Murf is not possible. The classic Murf and Midi Murf are fundamentally different hardware designs. Sorry.
"Second question: We forumers have been investigating/contemplating CP-style Moogerfoogers with front panel sockets, either by a "breakout panel" appended onto existing MFs or a redesigned front panel. Do you believe Moog Music will ever pursue this type of case design? If the answer is no, then what would your feeling be if end-users were to re-panel their 'foogers?"
We have no immediate plans to design CP-style Moogerfoogers, though it is an interesting idea. I'll make a note of it. You may be able to get something interesting going without changing your hardware. A simple patch bay and a few extra chords might allow a "breakout" accessible MF.

I must say, my patchbay is working swimmingly.

That is almost verbatim what one Mr. Gayness told me. That is when I gave up on that plan for the near future and came up with my plan. I'll save that for a different thread. Thanks for calling and getting a second opinion.
