Freqbox tracking...

Post by EricK » Wed Apr 29, 2009 5:22 pm

What is the measurement for the Freqbox. Its not 1vpo, then what is it? Im trying to help a member on another forum.

.93 like everything else moog i would think, it tracks like 5 octaves or so w/o any really noticeable tuning problems for me.

And also, the Ringmod needs attenuation to track whereas the Freqbox doesn't. THey can't both be .93 im thinking.

The Voyager VX-351 keyboard out CV is calibrated to 1V/octave.
Freqbox Freq CV in is calibrated to 1 V/ Octave - should be accurate over ~5octaves...
Of course w/ all analog stuff calibrations may vary slightly unit to unit.

Maybe it depends on the trim pot inside the Freqbox? You can tune it to get more accurate tracking if you are using MIDI-CV. Or so I've heard.

Im not qualified to be messing around with the circuits. I don't have a scope and the most I can get my multimeters to do is make that whistling noise when you touch the probes together lololoo.

Yeah I'm pretty sure the ringmod tracks at like ~.7 or something like that. Maybe the Freqbox is exactly 1v/oct, but i know i've have issues w/ both the voyager and the lp when using a sequencer (before i got my cp units) so they definitely have to be at the .93v scale for whatever reason.
