refinish wood ends?

did a search here for "refinish" and nothing came up

has anyone refinished the wood ends on their foogers? I have some that are beat up & could use it

also any info on the lacquer Moog/Big Briar used on them?

allright after not getting any results searching "refinish" or "lacquer" in subject titles, I used "wood" and got a bunch of hits

here are the best results I got:

and then found a reference to "foogerwood" in one of those:

in summary:

1. Tung Oil

Sorry to necro an old thread, but Gunstock by Minwax is pretty dead on. In 2016 I made wood sides for my Hammond SK-1 (61 keys) organ. I used Red Oak (the links above mention Moog most likely used Ash from Tennessee for the Moogerfoogers) and stained with “Gunstock” stain by Minwax. I’m certain I coated on polyurethane or lacquer afterwards, but I don’t remember the model or brand …just something ultra clear and with minimal color. Here’s how the SK-1 came out:
