Ring modulator noise

Post by Sculptair » Wed Apr 10, 2019 1:38 pm

For those of you who have used a ring modulator...with it plugged in and turned on, does it make noise like it is self oscillating when you are not playing? I tried out a Randy’s Revenge the other day, my first with a ring mod, and it was annoyingly noisy. Just wondering if all ring mods were. Thx.

never noticed any noise with my ring mod that I didn't create lol.

The Moog ring mod is the best and most versatile ring mod you could get. I'd highly recommend it. if you don't like it you won't like ring mod in general

Thx. It boggles my mind why they stopped making them. I have the cluster flux, delay, and MF trem. Beautiful.

I just bought an MF-102 ring mod. Absolutely gorgeous. It turns out the noise problem with the Randy’s revenge was the electrical system at the guitar shop… Seems as though everything is noisy there.

I have two of them - no noise in any of my moogerfoogers except the cluster flux is a little noisy.
