Using a function generator as an LFO?

Post by latigid on » Thu Jul 13, 2006 6:39 pm

I was in my local electronics store and found this:

http://www.dse.co.nz/cgi-bin/dse.storef ... View/Q1826

It is basically a 10 to 100MHz waveform generator, with sine/tri/square/pulse up/pulse down/saw wave shapes. The amplitude (amount) is adjustable, and it has a linear/log "sweep," which I'm guessing is FM on the wave output.

I don't think that the frequency (rate) is voltage controlable, so it would not completely intergrate into, say, a modular system, but it seems quite cheap as a multi-wave LFO, and could be useful for repairing those old synths!

Just a thought anyways...
