MF-104Z delay problem

Post by bedbugs » Sun Jun 25, 2017 8:49 am

Hi

I have an issue with my MF-104Z delay pedal : It works fine, then after 20-30 seconds, the delay sound disappears in a loud POP, leaving me with the DRY sound only. If i press BYPASS twice, the delay comes back, but cuts again after a few seconds (5-10s). If i repeat the process, the delay sound cuts after an even shorter period... weird.

The DELAY OUTPUT is working perfectly fine on the other hand, regardless of what's going on on the MIX OUT.

I got this unit second hand for a good price. I think there might me a problem with the VCA of the delay on the MIX OUT. What can i do ?

UPDATE - the 9 volt power supply i was using at first (the one for my MF-101) actually outputs 15 volts... (why is beyond me, it's clearly written 9v on it). Did it damage the mf104z ? if so, what do i need to replace ?

Thanks

Symptoms are different... but it's worth trying.
As I told you on another forum, I think the PSU is not in cause here.

EDIT: sorry, I hadn't seen your post.

Thanks for the help.

I've completely stripped down the MF-104Z from its case / knobs. I plugged it, and the delay worked fine for a longer time than usual, around 2 minutes, then the delay disappeared again... then reappeared after 30 seconds.... then disappeared after a few seconds, then disappeared... etc
