MF-106M SuperMoogerFooger

Post by Captainflint » Thu Feb 11, 2016 7:31 am

Hi Folks,

Please forgive my ignorance on the subject, but I have just completed my Moogerfooger set by purchasing the MF-108M Cluster Flux. I have them all :-)

But I was wondering what happened to the MF-106 ? What was it ? Did it ever exist ? or why skip the number 6 in the family line ?

Best regards,
a Moog playing parrot.

From the KnobTweak Database -

Q: Why did Moog skip the MF-106 in the Moogerfooger lineup?

A: The Moog folks would have to provide the definitive answer here, but one thought is that by jumping over the '106 model number, Moog created a hole in the product line that opens up speculation as to what it might have been (i.e. the 'missing' device that never saw the light of day) or what it might be (i.e. it's still in development and not ready yet).

I read somewhere (or heard in an interview) that they were designing the 106 and 107 at the same time and decided to combine the two into one effect.

I think 106 was going to be a harmonizer/tracker w/ variable LFO, and the 107 part was the FM circuit.

Not sure tho.

A CV spring reverb would be a nice addition.

This is better than Python :-

"Introducing the MF-106TC - The MF-106TC Time Compressor has the opposite function of analog delays in that is compresses the time of the input audio, allowing the performer to hear notes they haven't yet played."

I wonder if there is a player switch on it where you have your guitarist of choice :-) !

Excellent !
