MP-201 psu problem

Post by bethy1234 » Tue Dec 08, 2015 4:22 pm

Hi guys,

finally managed to get hold of a MP-201, which came without a psu. On buying and using this psu, i find the device is only powered when i move the psu tip with my finger.

please see attached video web link.

My specific question is :Do you thing this problem is due to a faulty connecter within the mp201 itself? I know i could wedge it with something if all else fails.

All the best and thanks for looking

Did you buy a Moog PSU or some other brand?

Assuming that the power supply and its cable are operational and compatible, the culprit is probably the barrel connector.

While the OD (outer dimension) is probably OK, the ID (inner dimension) is probably too wide, making it difficult to make a good connection to the center pin without angling it a bit.

You can buy a replacement barrel from a parts shop that will fit more snugly.
