CP-251 question

Post by motion drive » Wed Nov 04, 2015 6:03 am

Heyhoo everybody

I'm playing around with my CP-251 since some time now and its a really great tool. I'm using it together with my Little Phatty witch is great fun.

Now I found this video on youtube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VQIrwIAK-fw
I love those talking sounds in there a lot. Check on 0.26 and at the end on 2.50

Now the guy claims, he's using the CP-251 and LP only. But to me, it seems impossible to achieve those vowel-like sounds without additional fx. Any idea how that can be done?

Thx for inputs

Sounds like it might be patched through a reverb -
but other than that, it sounds like it's all Little Phatty; the CP-251 is just doing some interesting things with the modulation.

Check out some of the Little & Slim Phatty presets (interchangeable between the two synths) available for download from the Moog website -
You'll find some presets that definitely have that "talking vowel" sound! :D
Little Phatty Solar CV, Minitaur, Slim Phatty (x2), MF-101, MF-102, MF-103, MF-104M, MF-105M, MF-108M, CP-251 (x2), Animoog app, Filtatron app, Model D app, Model 15 app...and some 5U modular and Doepfer stuff...
