Hi folks,
So I have a Moog little phatty, a Moog prodigy with CV and Filter input, a CP-251 and a microbrute. I was wondering what Moogerfooger would throw into the mix if you could only (Currently) get one of them
Cheers
Which Moogerfooger to get?
Re: Which Moogerfooger to get?
If you could find one, a MF-104M Analog Delay.
Second to that, MF-105M MIDI MuRF -
But you'll need to plan on spending quality time with it to get predictable "musical" results out of it!
Of course, since you have a CP-251, having the sweep cycle of a MF-103 Phaser synced to the same LFO driving your Little Phatty would be cool.
Sorry, MoogerFoogers are like potato chips -
It's tough to stick with just one!!

Little Phatty Solar CV, Minitaur, Slim Phatty (x2), MF-101, MF-102, MF-103, MF-104M, MF-105M, MF-108M, CP-251 (x2), Animoog app, Filtatron app, Model D app, Model 15 app...and some 5U modular and Doepfer stuff...
Re: Which Moogerfooger to get?
I find them really different to each other. So my boring answer is to listen to demos and think about what you want to reach sonically with your playing and gear. And don't rush it.

Totally biased and self-serving answer: MF-102 Ring Modulator
Why? See "Lord of the Ring (Modulator)" article here:

Re: Which Moogerfooger to get?
This! I was fortunate enough to get the last MF-104m on Amazon. There is just something about the sound of analog synths through the MF-104 that gives me chills.Stuka wrote:If you could find one, a MF-104M Analog Delay.

I knew I had to have the MF-103 to go along with that vibe. These are the two most crucial effects if you are going after that old school vintage analog synth sound, imo.
I also like running the MF-102 Ring Mod into MF-103, then MF-104, as my favorite set-up.
The MF-102 is probably the most useful in terms of sound design though, and I believe it's the most popular Moogerfooger, but don't quote me.
I'm thinking the MF-105m is probably the most fun. You can get a wide variety of sound shaping possibilities running a synth through it.
