Moogerfooger sounds

Post by deadhedgehog » Thu Sep 17, 2015 2:01 pm

Thought I'd share some sounds with you guys :) Hope you like 'em. The tracks are recorded "live" with no overdubbing on all the foogers, plus an ekstra 101 and CP. Just going for some abstract soundscapes.

Anyone else got some sounds from an all-fooger rig?

*edit you probably need headphones to hear them properly, levels are a bit low and there are many deep frequencies which get lost on computer speakers

Here's something my foogers surprised me with.

It was made with an MF-101, 102, 103, 105M, 107,
CP-251, and lots of cables. I drove the MF-107 with
my Solar Phatty, but the Mix was 100% Wet so that
you could only hear the 107's Oscillator.

As soon as I kicked it on it started talking to me.
The rig seems to be saying: "Experiment with me."
(Except in slightly coarser terms)

Wow - tonight I was just mellowing out and put on The Evolution of the Dark Side of the Moog by Pete Namlook & Klaus Schulze. At one point heard some pretty out there sounds - I was surprised to hear Klaus Schulze (who I assumed to be playing) taking that approach. Finally realized - I had clicked the link to deadhedgehog's moogerfooger track! They sounded great together!

I thought I had some all-moogerfooger recordings on my computer, but realized that nothing I did when I was heavily experimenting with a moogerfooger-only setup was only on minidisc. I found them, haven't used either MD player that I have in years, but I'm going to try and get them transferred. Thanks for the motivation!

Great work Dan, it must be tough to have a job where you come up with wicked sounds like this all day long...

I have been making new tracks with my all-moogerfooger setup. They probably won't make it into the top 20, but maybe someone here likes them.

Holy moly, joeman, that is crazy! There is some monster movie somewhere that really needs those sounds! It sounds like Jabba the Hut with a vocorder :D

haha yeah.. My goal is to make it very very controllable (with algorithmically generated envelopes from Max Msp) to make it talk some crazy demon/dinosaur/monster/animal sounds on command. Those sounds are the pedals on their own self triggering with me hardly touching a knob. There were a few moments I was literally feeling freaked out by it while it was blaring out of the speakers at me, but most of the time I was jumping around the room laughing and clapping with joy like a little kid.

I've recorded hours and hours of crazy from these things :-)

I see you have some minifoogers in your collection. I have all the moogerfoogers. Is there anything extra in having the minifoogers? ANd if so which ones?

Hi Spazige,

I got the minifoogers specifically for a guitar setup. But I've used the MF Boost on my rhodes too and I really like the sound it pulls.

I've not yet had any reason to use the minifoogers with The Demon.
