104M noise

Post by subq » Wed Feb 18, 2015 4:51 pm

How are you guys finding the noise on the 104M Super Delay?

I never noticed it on my 104M but I picked up a Super Delay and it's noisy enough for me to notice the hiss...I'm not doing any "out of bounds" tap delay times or anything.

On a similar note, anyone using TRS cables on their input and mix out jacks? I know they are TS but I haven't opened it up to see where the TRS makes the connection (to see if there would be a potential issue).

Strange. I thought my super delay was quieter than my old MF-104M.

Apparently they have "beefed up" the power supply and that is supposed to of lowered the noise floor.
Infact i saw one video with a Moog employee saying to his ears the noise floor was lower than the 104M.
I'm waiting for my 104SD to arrive, hope it's not noisy, I'll be running mine on Australian power, wonder if they sound different on say 110v versus 240v.

Unfortunately I don't have a 104M to compare to.. but I've been hoping that it will be the quietest out of all my different pedals simply because of Moog build quality.

I don't have both running since I planned on selling the 104M after picking up the 104MSD, however, maybe I will pull the 104M out of the box and do an A/B comparison.
