Midi Time Lag?

Post by Sculptair » Sat Jan 10, 2015 12:17 am

Anybody controlling either the MF-104m or the MF-108m with midi? If you send a series of midi messages to change multiple parameters on these units, what kind of time lag is there?

I have both of those Foogers ~

The hardware receiver side of the MIDI connections (the MoogerFoogers in this case) is going to respond, for all practical purposes, instantaneously.
Any MIDI lag usually originates with any software or processors that might be included on the controller side.
Little Phatty Solar CV, Minitaur, Slim Phatty (x2), MF-101, MF-102, MF-103, MF-104M, MF-105M, MF-108M, CP-251 (x2), Animoog app, Filtatron app, Model D app, Model 15 app...and some 5U modular and Doepfer stuff...

Hi Sculptair,

On the off chance that you might actually desire a time lag -
there is a parameter in both the MF-104M and MF-108M called:

Time Slew Rate (CC#5) {on the MF-104M}

and

Delay Time Portamento (CC#5) {on the MF-108M}

They both basically allow you to "glide" from one Delay Time value to another at the rate set via CC#5.

It can be both elegant and musical in the right situations.
