Easy enough to hit with a white stain... Take it to your local cabinetmaker if you don't have the wood chops.

heard they've improved a lot of things that result in less noise unwanted and better circuitry, its not just the delay times. that was some of the biggest complaints with the previous delay units

I don't know I love the noise of my 104m. it sounds weird and gritty ( in a good way) on its mixed all the way up but when you blend it all the way up it smears the sound in such a beautiful way
My modular so far: Q104, Q106 x2, Q107, Q108, Q109 x2 , Q116, Q118, Q127 w/Q140, Q130, STG Wave Folder, Mixer and Mankato playing with Moog Voyager, VX-351, CP-251, MF-104M x2 ( STEREO!) Volca Beats and Bass, Arturia Beat step

I just got my SD yesterday. After a bit of playing around with guitar, I thought it sounded pretty distorted and messed up. I had just about convinced myself it was broken. I A/B'd it with my regular 104m, and they actually sound pretty similar, but something just sounds weird about the SD. Has anyone else been able to A/B the two who might be able to tell me I'm crazy??

I prefer the sound of the M-SD to the 104M, but I can't play them side by side as I sold my 104M last Fall.

It's like a 104SD that actually works (and probably sounds a great deal better). Thankfully, Moog disposed of that whole "daughter board" idea years ago.

Does anybody else think that the LFO circuit seems more extreme . . . or is this because there are more chips and more time that be stretched and twisted?

I love it. I own no.45, and I bought it from Texas Guitar Ranch in Irving. They had one more in stock, and if no one gets it I may be tempted to go get that one too.

Anyone know if the following only applies to the new super delay?

Quote...
The power supply, bias, and rail generating circuitry have all been improved for greater sound quality and reduced microphonics, and an Emphasis/De-Emphasis circuit has been added for reduced noise. Additionally, the delay-loop level matching circuitry from the 500 Series analog delay has been included for maximized feedback and mix stability.
...

It is not totally clear which is the original spec they fixed. I am guessing the 104m, but they go on to reference the original batch of analog delays too.

Anyone know?

I can't confirm or deny, but I will say the gain structure on my SD is much different than my M. In fact, that's part of the reason why I thought the SD sounded bad. When I set the SD to the same game settings as the M, I had a much different sound - a bad sound. Once I realized the gain structures were different, I was able to set up the SD so that it sounded as good or better than the M.

I love my SD. It really adds a nice ambience and overal tone to the sax. I posted some samples in another thread.

Out of curiosity, where did you get your 104M-SD from? Ordered it when it was announced and I'm still waiting. I'm beginning to consider canceling my order and hitting some other place. Thanks -
