Powering Multiple 'Foogers

Post by Voltor07 » Tue May 20, 2014 4:24 am

My latest project: https://www.flickr.com/photos/32147775@ ... otostream/ According to my calculations, it will power 8 Moogerfoogers, with 100mA to spare figuring on 300mA per 'Fooger...I know there are better options available, but I did this on a budget of $110.

What are you using Voltor? SPSU or linear? What are you doing for regulation/heatsinks? How noisy are the rails?

Linear power supply, just a typical dual voltage adjustable Condor open frame supply. The fan provides 18 CFM and the supply requires 17 CFM to stay cool. It's dead silent. :)

So probably a PowerOne then? Yep, you shouldn't have any trouble :)

Yeah, Power One it is...I looked again this morning, it's a Power One. I get a lot of Condor and Power One supplies on E-bay when I find a particularly good deal. I've never spent more than $80 on a power supply.
