Well, I took the plunge -

By the weekend, I'll have a MF-102 Ring Modulator, MF-105M MIDI Murf, and the newest addition, a MF-104M Analog Delay (along with a couple of expression pedals) to chew on the signal path from my Minitaur and AX-Synth!! Crazy!! :D

Now I just need to make time to dive in and start tweaking knobs (and it is a bit overwhelming right now)!! 8)

I still plan to add the CP-251 (later in the year, hopefully), and if all goes well, the Slim Phatty will stay on the purchase list as well (fingers crossed!!). My MG-1 appears it's going to need some serious overhaul, unfortunately (corroded connectors, crapped-our sliders from foam intrusion, etc.), so for now it's probably going to be little more than a big, cool nostalgic paperweight.

I know I have a lot of tweaking, patching, and experimenting to get the most out of the Moogerfoogers, but I would certainly welcome any upfront advice. My initial question concerns the audio signal path, since I want to make the most of the filter & delay effects, and preferably feed my audio mixer with a nice L/R panned stereo return from the Foogers.

What would ne the most effective & "manageable" (i.e. trying to limit inadvertent total sonic chaos) audio signal path?

Minitaur - 102 - 105M - 104M
or
Minitaur - 102 - 104M - 105M
(or some other combination?)

Any recommendations for patching, tweaking, and routing would certainly be appreciated!!

Thanks guys - this forum ROCKS!! :)

I always liked the 105 at the end of the path after the delay...each delay panned to a different side.

Get yourself some patch cords and just start having fun. I really cant advise on patching unless I had a great Idea about the kind of things you want. Moog will do great sounding special effects if one wants to go that route. It all depends on what you are influenced by.

Start a logbook to document your patches.

I struggled for years to find a permanent patch / sequence of foogers solution. I just accepted that I need to be able to switch order.

Like Eric said, keep a log book of your patches...
Vibration emanates from all things, even nothing. Using awareness to translate vibration into "music" is something that I am whole heartedly grateful for.

I actually have yet to try the murf at the end of the chain. I guess I have some experimenting to do tomorrow...wish I had a midi murf now to keep them in sync better

Someimtes I wish I hadnt sold all my foogers. BUt honestly, I only kept the 104z(x2), mf103, 108 and the 105m. They were the only ones that got used really.

WOW!

That sounds like a lot of opportunity for Fooger-induced sonic chaos!!!

WAS! lol

but sadly I dont like things sitting around and collecting dust. If I dont use them enough, they dont need to hang out that long. I only kept two delays as one is a permanent part of my mixer, and one for external proccessing. Kind of pain when you run too many through the one on the mixer and the sound turns to garbage. I would have sold the phaser, but what it does to bass lines justifies me keeping it even though it only gets used about once every 6 or 7 tracks.

Brain swirl, Day 1:

Recovering from my first evening spent experimenting with the Minitaur running through the Ring Modulator, Analog Delay, and MIDI MuRF.
Nothing but knob tweaking at this point ~ haven't even touched the expression pedal and CV connectivity yet!

Holy cow! Son of a...! Whoa! (etc., etc.) :D 8)
