"Rack mount" fooger connections....

Post by Mudfuzz » Sat Dec 01, 2012 4:22 pm

Hey! what is used to connect the "sides" of the foogers to each other when the wooded sides are removed? I see screws... they have to be screwed into something...

{The reason I am asking is I need 1/4" of space min more then I have :cry: on my pedal board [20"X40"] to get all my foogers and MP201 to fit in a usable layout... so I am going to make a platform/shelf the holds 5 + my CP 251 to raise them about 2" up to put powering and cabling under them anyway so I am thinking about just making this like a doublewide rackmount thingy.}

They screw into nuts. The center fooger usually has the sides removed, and the outside two don't.

I did exactly what you are planning using the rack mount kit & 3 foogers. Fantastic idea!

Alright, thanks!

I was sure they would be doing some kind of butterfly tab or something to hold them together better... which I might do...

If you look at the way that the CP-251/VX-351 rack mount works, it actually uses a center block of wood that screws into each of the adjacent devices. If you are crafty with a table router you can likely fashion one but there really is not much benefit.

The drilled holes in the MF rack mount kit allows for a combination of 2 x VX/CP size devices and one Fooger, or 3 x Fooger (if I get that right). I have my center Fooger strapped in with velcro, that way I can switch up depending on what I want on the rack vs. the floor. The rack mount kit comes with the same fancy black screws and nuts (because the type which goes into the wood are wood screws). From the front it looks seamless; nice and clean.

Maybe this is out of topic, but it I need info!

I want to organize my setup in a rack.

http://www.thomann.de/gb/thon_triple_do ... k_6her.htm

This is rack, that I'm after... so, does anyone know if I can instal 3 Moogers and 2 CP-251 on the top (with rack mount adapters) and one patchbay. In lower spaces I need to mount my Fireface and DP/4.
I also wonder if Moogerfooger rack mount come with wood panels to place them between the foogers. If not, than I have to make them by myself. Without wood between it seems that middle fooger is in danger.
I need measurements for the rack mount.

There is a lack of info about this rack mount kits. So any info is very welcome!

With this rack, I would be more than happy!

to install 3 foogers in a rackmount all you have to do is take away the wooden sides of the middle fooger. I dont know if they supply screws and washers for the middle one's holes when the side's are of. For the cp rackmount that one come's with extra wooden block to join them together. Pretty cool, when i got out of space in my rack you can make nice

Yes, that's cool. A double CP!!!
I wish they had that same idea for Foogers.

Does anyone know the measurements for fooger rack mount?

Yep. yeah you need the reverse polarity cables, and you need to do each one on it's own... daisy chaining just makes everything noisy.
