Murf Vst

Post by n2design » Sat Feb 18, 2012 5:06 am

I am trying to figure out how to get the murf vst?

I installed the software and it only seemed to have included a standalone version and not a loadable vst.

thoughts?

From the page of the Moog website:

Availability and pricing: MuRF_Controller is a free download for all owners of the MF-105M MIDI MuRF. The VST MuRF_Controller is available for Windows and Mac. It requires a VST host and is not a "stand-alone" program.

You may have installed the standalone only...

Found it, many thx!!

I see that the vst is missing the pattern editor and advanced options. Any idea why that is?

Also, in the vst. The midi menu function only reflects to transmit channel. I dont see anywhere where I can select the midi output.

I don't DAW these days nor own a Murf; just went to look at the software on the Moog site for you. Hopefully some user will chime in...

I'm running the VST under Cubase 6 on Windows.
I don't see access to the pattern editor (and some other bits) either.

It looks to me like the plug in is possibly a SynthEdit (or similar) based device, hence a bit rough round the edges.
It looks like it could be fun automating parameters with it though, I just hope the plug in can cope with hardcore midi wranglings.

Hi,
I cannot find a way to use MuRF VST Controller with Logic Pro as it needs AU, not VST. Any suggestions ?
Thanks.

If your host doesn't support VST you'll need a Wrapper like the FXPansion VST/AU wrapper, either that or change hosts!

Yes, I guess that's the downside of using the overproprietary Mac system...

It might be worth asking Moog if they plan to update the Murf editor in the future.
I only say this as they've just recently updated the Phatty editor, which is now both VST and AU
