Multi-Moogerfooger power supply
Re: Multi-Moogerfooger power supply
I use several power strips ganged together and all the original wall warts (I have 12 Foogers, CP251, VX351, two MP201's). Everything lives on a shelf below the table top with all the gear. Plenty of ventilation, plenty of room.
Works for me.

Re: Multi-Moogerfooger power supply
Diago Powerstation can power 8-9 Moogerfoogers at once and is the most slimline option out of those mentioned here. You need the red adapters for the daisy-chain cable plus a few extensions - sweet! No need to waste a rack space or two...

I'm about to order one of the white 2.1mm reverse polarity (center positive) power adaptor cables

from Voodoo Labs for my MF102. I have the Voodoo Labs Pedal Power2 Plus. Do I need to flick the switch on the PP2 with the white (center +) cable?

I use Cioks Ciokolate which powers 10 foogers. For the rest I use the wall warts.

Nope, keep the switch in "Normal".mattymel wrote:I'm about to order one of the white 2.1mm reverse polarity (center positive) power adaptor cables

Vibration emanates from all things, even nothing. Using awareness to translate vibration into "music" is something that I am whole heartedly grateful for.

Re: Multi-Moogerfooger power supply
I just cleared a lot of space on the floor - almost all the warts are gone!

I was looking into using the Cioks DC10 to power my gear:
7x Moog Moogerfoogers (MF101, 102, 103, 104m, 105m, 107, 108m)
2x Moog Mother 32s
1 Eventide Space
But, from what I can tell, the Moogerfoogers require 300-400mA's. So, I don't understand how the DC10 can power them all when first 6 ports only support 100-200mA? Am I missing something? I'm really trying to figure out the best and cleanest solution to power all of these.

Have a look at their Eventide PowerFactor 2, it has even more power:deadhedgehog wrote:I was looking into using the Cioks DC10 to power my gear:

Or wait for Strymon`s Zuma:
http://www.strymon.net/products/zuma/
I`ve built two boxes, one with 3 107s and 2 cp251s, powered by a Cioks DC10, and the other with a 102, a 101, a 103, a 104M, a 105M and a 108M, powered by a PowerFactor 2. This gives me enough power to hook up some extra stompboxes or even synths. Cioks` power supplies work great for me, and through my Swiss dealer I even got a personal selection of cables.
If I had to start again, I`d wait for reports on the Zuma and make my choice afterwards.
Cheers, radioland

Will 500mA have any adverse effects on devices that are spec'd for 300-400mA?radioland wrote:Or wait for Strymon`s Zuma:deadhedgehog wrote:I was looking into using the Cioks DC10 to power my gear:

If it's all okay, that looks to be exactly what I'm looking for and I'll hold out.

Yeah that looks pretty nice, wonder what the price is going to be? Some of these power options are a bit of $, where yeah I know it's something that is a bit needed/wanted but for the price
I could almost buy another MoogerFooger.
Re: Multi-Moogerfooger power supply
Your mA needs to be the same or higher than what the pedal needs. It could be a million times higher without any problem but if you go lower, you might get weird results, possibly even damage your gear. The original Foogers were fine with 200mA, though that quickly changed to 300mA and now some require 400mA like the MF104M.benulous wrote:Will 500mA have any adverse effects on devices that are spec'd for 300-400mA?

Re: Multi-Moogerfooger power supply
Does the 9--12 outs and 9--12/15 outs on the DC10 both work with the foogers?

Re: Multi-Moogerfooger power supply
I just posted this elsewhere, but haven't tried it:
The mf-102 manual states: POWER REQUIREMENTS: +9 to +15 volts DC. Nominal current is 100 milliamperes.
The mf-103 manual goes a bit further:
POWER: The MF-103 works satisfactorily on +10 to +15 volts DC and uses about 100 milliamperes of current. Note that most power adaptors that are rated at +9V DC will actually produce +10 to +11 volts, and power adaptors rated at +12V DC will actually produce +13 to +14 volts, when used with the MF-103. For this reason, you can power your MF-103 from virtually any power adaptor which has a nominal rating between +9 volts and +12 volts at a rated current of at least 200 milliamperes, and has the appropriate power connector.
If you use a power source other than that which was supplied with the MF-103, be sure that the voltage never exceeds +15 volts. Power sources with voltages in excess of +15 volts may cause serious damage to the MF-103's circuit.
All the rest of the Moogerfoogers state a max of 9v power or you're damage the unit.
Again I haven't tried it.
I do use all of the moogerfoogers though.
I'm currently powering all of 7 these moogerfoogers with a CIOKS DC10 using this centre positive DC-plug RED flex cable for each:
2050 CIOKS Flex 2 - 50cm with 5.5/2.1mm centre positive DC-plug (red)
The cables are only $3.99 each from GuitarEffectsPedals.com
Here's what's connected to the CIOKS DC10, all of these are using a 9V connection:
MF-101-(100 milliamps)
MF-102-(100 milliamps)
MF-103-(200 milliamps)
MF-104M-(400 milliamps)
MF-107-(200 milliamps)
MF-108M-(400 milliamps)
CP-251-(100 milliamps)
I use the wall wort for the MF-105M which needs 350 milliamps since I ran out of room on the CIOKS.
