Hi folks,
Does anyone know if it's possible to split a CV signal with something as simple as a TRS Y lead or would I need something like the CP251?
My ideas are to either split the signal from the EP2 or split the signal from the Env out on the back of the MF-101 (or both if it's possible).

you need a multiplier, yo. easy to make if you know how to solder. Just get some trs jacks and get an enclosure from radio shack and make about 4 rows of 4 jacks each (or whatever). Look up how to solder a mult, you'll find what you need. or buy a 1/4" patchbay, shouldn't be more than $100 on ebay if you look hard enough. If you're serious about CV its a solid investment. I don't use a 1/4 inch myself, mainly because I have mults on the VX and Cp expanders as well as the mp-201 jacks, but I do use an audio patchbay, which I soldered myself (96 TT patchpoints), that took a lot of time and speed to complete, but it's awesome, once you learn the configuration, you can do artistic patching between processors, mixers, DAW's, synths, etc. I have one of those mackie firewire 16 ins/16 outs mixer, so the routing can get crazy, but super flexible. I like to bring effects/plug ins from Pro Tools back into channels on the mackie in real time. I am not much into digital stuff but with reverbs and effects the mackie turns into a analog/digital patchbay itself, add the TT bay and you have infinitum.

Just get an experimenters box and a handfull of 1/4" jacks. Solder all the Sleeves together and then solder all the tips together. Just remember, you can split out a CV to many destinations. (There can be some voltage droop depending on the impedance and number of the inputs) You can not ADD CV's together without a mixer or bad things can happen. (Voltages add and get too high for the equipment.)

Yes, you can generally split CV, but a TRS plug won't do it, as the CV jacks are mono.
Radio Shack sells a mono 1/4 male -> 2 mono 1/4 females, that should work.
YMMV depending on what you plug into, should work fine. I've used passive multis a bunch,
and not had issues. You can also build a multi, as the other responders said.

I've been googling things like "how to make a CV multiplier" and "experimenter's box" but not had much luck on the search front as yet (I've not long started looking tho).
I can solder & have no probs making simple things (actually been looking to doing a BYOC sometime soon) so can make something.
The EP2 has a TRS jack on it wired TRS & I made a short patch TRS - TRS wired TS to go from the Env out of the 101 & into any CV in on either of my MFs.
My thought was to get a 1/4 socket, 2 short TRS cables & 2 TRS jacks just to do a straight split. Does splitting it mean only 1/2 the voltage would go to either jack if both are plugged in or do both get .5v?

I'd say all the voltage is split but only more load is put on the CV output (more current drawn).
Since CV inputs are high impedance, the difference in current draw should be negligible. The mult circuits in the Moog expanders or CP unit are just four sockets wired together; one with a +5V supply.
Thinking out loud here, but you might want to connect only one of your split sockets' RING terminal to the EP-2 i.e. only power it from one source. You may get weird things happening if you use both. But that could be BS as the +5V supply is basically shared between all CV inputs on the 101.
