Using my foogers on bass and the Boss OC-2 is a large part of my sound. I use it wit the dry and −2 Oct dials at zero and the −1 oct at full… so basically a fat clean 1 octave down.
My Freqbox sits before the octave in the chain due it needing to be used before a line selector and effect both channels… however the freqbox only seems to effect the original dry signal, but as my octave pedal is producing the octave down only I get NOTHING from the Freqbox. If I dial the dry back in thats effected, but what I want is to apply the freqbox to the sub octave.
Can this be done… is there a trick I'm missing?
Cheers Shep

Good question. I don't have an octave pedal but can tell you for a fact that it (Freq), and many tracking type of pedal whether they be pedals from T-Rex, EHX, etc. (Freq included) AND Midi2CV solutions have a hard time tracking at low frequencies.
I'm a bass player also and have found issues in this regard. On the Freqbox, you'll just get pfft. Nothing sound wise. If you tweak the Freq control (push it high with SYNC on, you can get to a point where it tracks better (on otherwise non tracking notes) but it may not be desirable by this point.
I just bought a high end (well, high end from a pedal perspective) and have a hunch that it will help out either in tracking/smoothing of Freqbox or the punchiness of the MF-101.
If make any progress here, please post as many could benefit. I've been using my Freqbox more for a 3rd OSC for my SEM (or LP) than for this purpose but if I'm honest, I've been spending alot more time playing than tweaking lately.

I'm guessing that if my pedals were the other way around then that would be better... At the mo, the Freqbox effects the signal, then I remove that signal and replace it with the octave down... As oppose for feeding the Freqbox with an octave down for it to effect. Due to my effects chain though they need to stay this way.
I'm not convinced still that the Freqbox I here to stay in my set up... I find I'm using it more as a fuzz induced pitchshifter... Much in the way you'd use a digitech whammy paired with a fuzz pedal, and with it's tracking issues on the suboctave I think I may actually be better with a whammy!
