Upgrade 8-voice to 16-voice possible?

If I buy a Moog One 8-voice now, can it later be upgraded (by adding a circuitboard) to a 16-voice version?

Or do I have to sell the 8-voice and buy a (new) 16-voice?

I think this question can only be answered by Moog Music and not by users here.
And what about maybe different hardware revisions by the time you buy the upgrade?

Maybe the question is theoretical, but the current answer is no, and why would someone? Insured shipping each way to Moog would be $150 (on the extreme low end). in addition to that $300++ shipping, the upgrade would have to cost more than the difference between the 8/16v at the original retail price (the Sequential upgrade price model). Just buy the 16v now.

...if the decision affects a persons ability to feed their family, maybe the ONE isn't the right synthesizer with all the other synth options out there.

I think the 8v is a hearty synth. Plenty of classics with only 8v such as OBxa, OB-8, JP-8, and the Xpander only had 6.

I asked support and received the answer that while it is technically possible they do not offer this service.

I think he's asking bc other companies have synths with this capability (Dave Smith, for example). The Rev2 8 voice can be upgraded for a small price via a module. I don't think it's necessarily about whether or not you can feed your family. It's a good question!
