Firmware update frozen

Post by paddy ryan » Wed Jul 03, 2019 8:24 pm

After running the firmware update 1.06, and after restarting when prompted, my ONE came up with the "updating voice card firmware" message on the screen (which is normal).

What is NOT normal is that it has been frozen on that screen ever since... (almost an hour now). Has anyone experienced this, and if so, how did you fix it?

No that’s not normal. If you haven’t, I’d quickly drop a note to Moog. I suspect you may have to restart but if you can get their view first.

UPDATE:

Since I didn't know what else to do, I restarted again. Same thing happened.

After waiting another 45 minutes, I did one last hail mary and I restarted AGAIN, and it booted up normally, with the new firmware successfully installed.

It has been fine since.

Phew!

Phew indeed! Just out of curiosity was your flash drive the one Moog sent, some are noticing the One is a little picky about formatting - just like the Kronos.

Anyway glad you’re there.

It wasn't the MOOG USB thumb drive, but one i have used on another MOOG ONE with no problem.

It read the file fine, it was only after the restart that the problem occurred. Hopefully I'll never see that again!
