Subsequent 25 vs. Subsequent 37

Post by OairoKolton » Sun Sep 12, 2021 4:26 am

I’ve narrowed it down to these two but I would like to know if I’m sacrificing any major features. The only differences I’ve found seem to be an an octave less on the 25, no LED screen, and less presets and memory. Am I missing anything? If I go with the 25 I can afford to get a poly synth as well (looking at the Korg minilogue xd). This will be my first venture into synth land. I would really appreciate some guidance and insight. Thank you in advance!

Welcome to the forums!

Check out this S.O.S. review of the 25. They even have a comparison chart on the 2nd page of the review that lists the "main differences" between the two. I would go for the 37 if possible. The price isn't that much more and you won't be forever wondering if you made the wrong choice. Love my 37!

Globally speaking, the Subsequent 25 should be considered as a duophony-capable Sub Phatty, not as a light Subsequent 37.

Other differences you may want to be aware of: the Sub/sequent 37 has a sequencer, an arpeggiator, a second modulation bus, probably richer envelope generators (to be confirmed).

I went with the 'Sub 25' in the end. 8)

It's function is only for LH-bass and RH lead-lines, for the most part anyway.
