Hi everyone,
The Pitch Bend Down function don't work at my Sub 37 Tribute Edition. From middle position to max down position no reaction. The pitch stays the same. Bend Up works well. I looked into Global sections and into Patch Edit sections. I don't found anything what solves the problem. I actualised the firmware too (Vers. 1.2.0)
Date of Manufacture was June 2016
Can anyone help? Has anyone had the same problems?
Thanks in advance
Sub37 Pitchbend problems
Re: Sub37 Pitchbend problems
Welcome to this forum!
Did you check the EDIT MENU item BEND DOWN? Maybe the BEND DOWN value is set to zero.
And as this is also controlled via MIDI CC #108, be sure that you are not sending values to the Sub37 causing this. You can check this, if you test the pitch bend without any MIDI or USB connection.

Re: Sub37 Pitchbend problems
Thank you for the friendly welcome.
Yes, I checked the Edit Menu. BEND DOWN value is on default -2, BEND UP value on +2.
Regarding Midi ... no, I haven't any other Midi Instrument connected to the Sub 37.
When I turn on the synthesizer and I move the pitch bend wheel down for the first time, the pitch follows the set value as in the Edit Menu (-2). If the pitch bend wheel returns back to the middle position, the pitch remains however unchanged. If I move the pitch bend wheel up, the pitch changes according to the set value as in the Edit Menu (+2).
If the Pitch Bend wheel returns back to the mid, the pitch changes to the value of Pitch Down (-2) and remains also when I moove the wheel maximal downwards.
I hope, I described the problem intelligible enough. Maybe it's a software bug. Thank you for your support.

Re: Sub37 Pitchbend problems
I don't think you found a bug, as it is very, very like that other users use the pitch bend down before.
Maybe you need to calibrate the wheel. Check the manual for details about this.

Re: Sub37 Pitchbend problems
Sorry ... there is no function for calibrating the wheel. I looked for mechanical defects, but I can't find any.
Re: Sub37 Pitchbend problems
You are right. My fault.

Re: Sub37 Pitchbend problems
Funny thing, i came here for the very same reason.
However i have a solution if it's not a hardware fault, it's called Sub_37_Pot_Calibration
I have it but i don't know if i am allowed to post links here. But a fast google search will show it up for you and anyone else interested.
The thing is that i need someone to confirm that this will work for my Subsequent 37.
Or if there is a separate one for Subsequent.
I know theoretically it will work as it is but it's good to have a confirmation from someone who has done it before without problems.

Re: Sub37 Pitchbend problems
I tested the
Sub_37_Pot_Calibration files with my Subsequent 37 CV.
seems to work...
but however, it is so
that when I use an external MIDI controller with PW
The pitch bend area goes much further!
With the PW of the Subsequent 37 CV it sounds throttled in the upper and lower range.
With my old Yamaha MCS2 midi controller the PW it is clearly audible an unleashed monster!

Re: Sub37 Pitchbend problems
Update:
My Subsequent 37 CV reacted to the calibration by chance!
the next day it was like before; unusable!
After opening and checking it
it turned out to be a mechanical problem!
The Pitch Wheel simply turned on the axis without moving the axis!
It was mechanically worn out or simply had too much leeway!
I picked it off and "padded" it with a strip of paper about 3 x 4 mm
Put it back on, now it's tight again and works like on the first day!
My poor nerves!

Re: Sub37 Pitchbend problems
I was glad to find this post.... I just bought a used Sub37, and the pitch wheel doesn't seem to do anything. I'm hoping the fix is as simple as what you described! Any tips on taking it apart far enough to access the pitchwheel mechanism?

The Sub_37_Pot_Calibration can get confusing.
