Things to adjust when using a Sub37 preset in a Subsequent?

Post by lordradish » Fri Mar 02, 2018 9:13 am

Hey, folks,

I know that due to the differences between the two synths, Sub37 presets are not optimized for the Subsequent. Given there's still not a lot of Subsequent patches available out there for download, I'm curious... are there specific things that one should definitely tweak when using Sub37 presets? I've tried a few, they sound good, it generally seems a filter tweak here or there helps out. Are there specific things or is it more or less spread across all parameters?

Generally speaking, you should just turn down the Preset Volume (on the second page of the preset Edit menu) to ~25-50. This allows the Subsequent 37's VCA some breathing room and sounds more "right".

That's it? So not so much in the way of tone shaping, then. Excellent. Thank you!
