For the life of me, I can't figure this out. Thanks in advance.

What does the syx file contain? I've used syx files to update the firmware of my Moog synths, but that process doesn't involve the editor software.

A patch preset downloaded, for example, from the Sub 37 Cookbook site.

To import preset sysex files you can simply drag and drop them into the middle "CATEGORY / PRESETS" pane of the "LIBRARIAN" page, it will then be imported into the currently selected preset folder in the left hand "PRESET FOLDERS" pane. You can also drag and drop the preset sysex files directly into the folders in the left hand pane, the middle pane will automatically switch to show the content of the folders as you hold your mouse pointer over them when dragging files. You can select multiple files at the same time for dragging into the library.

You may want to organize your patches in your own folders:
  • Select the "LIBRARIAN" page
  • Right click over a folder in the left hand "PRESET FOLDERS" pane to bring up the menu, "User" might be the most appropriate folder to start with
  • Select "New Folder" and give it a name of your choosing, it will be created inside the folder you opened the menu for
  • Drag your preset sysex files to the newly created folder
  • As you see, the folders can be deleted and renamed from the menu as well

That fact that drag and drop works is maybe not too intuitive. Putting the files in your 'Preset Library' folder on disk also works, but most users might not know where to find this folder. I guess it would make sense to have IMPORT PRESET and EXPORT PRESET buttons (like there are IMPORT BANK and EXPORT BANK buttons).

I agree. It seem inconsistent with bank I/O using buttons and preset I/O not.

My biggest wish list item is a simple all-parameter export to a simple text file so I can compare two presets easily, like in an spreadsheet. Trying to compare visually is tedious.

Thanks again.
