Sub 37 to Mother 32 problem-- help!

I connected my sub 37 via midi to my mother 32. I used a midi cable from the midi out on the sub to the midi- in on the mother 32. Then just played the mother with the sub's keyboard. I had audio cable going out of both units directly into my speaker. No other electronics involved. After playing a few notes I unplugged the midi cable out of the sub 37. Now the sub 37 is not working. If I hit a note no sound comes. If I continuously hit a single note I'll get a sound every few seconds. I have turned the sub off and on a few times and it did not fix it. What did I do wrong and how do I fix it?

Sounds like poly chain is active. Go into the MIDI menu on the Sub37 and set POLY NUMBER to OFF. It's on page 3 of the MIDI menu. See page 36 in the manual for details.
