Hi just got my sub 37, and once programing from an initial patch osc 2 became noisy and distorted although non was dialled in by me, has anyone else had this problem and should I be worried? So far it's not repeated it
This turns out to be the headphones out Jack becoming noisy and distorted (not lead related) sounds like the headphone amp not the pot
Any suggestions?

I have the same problem. Sound from Headphones out is noisy/distorted. Line out sounds fine.
Moog Sub37, Windows7 64, Cubase 8.5
Re: Sub 37 headphone jack crackling and distorted
Same here but it only happens occasionally, out of the blue (I rarely use the headphone socket so it would probably happen more if I did). Definitely sounds like an op-amp or something because it's random and maybe after pushing it a bit. If it was a wiring problem I'd suspect it to be more often and more likely to stop once it starts.
My main volume knob will also occasionally have some "oxidised" sounding bad contact at 12 o'clock and maybe 4 o'clock, then next time it's gone ( I thought the pot was bad previously but it comes and goes...)
I know we can contact Andy etc but if anyone else has had this and knows anything that it being a fault with the hardware please let us know as it would save time and lots of to/fro.

Re: Sub 37 headphone jack crackling and distorted
I also have this issue, headphone jack sound distorted _sometimes_ but not always. The cord and headphones are ok, check with several other instruments.
Seems to me like a crappy headphone amp in the sub37.

Re: Sub 37 headphone jack crackling and distorted
Hi does sound like an op amp issue to me. But Andy from moog suggested it sounds like a loose cable from headphone jack and the board.
Tell me what you think as mines in for repair and due to the intermittent nature of this issue will the engineer find the fault?

Re: Sub 37 headphone jack crackling and distorted
Well make sure to update us on what they say! The fact mine always happens after X amount of time (heat related perhaps) makes me feel it's not the wiring. I've repaired similar faults on old alpha juno op-amps, soldered in a new chip to get rid of crackling but something simpler like a lose cable would be better of course. I guess on the Sub 37 the op-amp chip is SMT which makes it trickier, though not impossible, for the DIY-er in years to come if they fail.
Re: Sub 37 headphone jack crackling and distorted
Looks like it's the headphone amp, they're going to replace the complete board, may take a couple of weeks as they have non in stock!
