Ultraslim Sub 37 Module

I would love to turn my Sub 37 into a 3-voice synthesizer (or even 5 voice for that matter!).

Think MOOG would ever release a Sub 37 module (like the slim phatty) but even slimmer? I'm thinking it wouldn't even need knobs. All the modules could connect via MIDI polychain and there you have it, a polyphonic Sub 37 with a main panel and keyboard to play with.

Am I dreaming? Or do you think MOOG might do this? What's stopping them from now making polyphonic synthesizers?

Thoughts?

That's an interesting idea... maybe offer two chaining modes. Mode 1 for true poly voice, and Mode 2 for distinct poly voices (where you would set the parameters for each voice from the Sub 37 keyboard's knobs and switches).

I don't know, man. Part of what makes the Sub 37 so badass is the array of knobs on the panel. I would love to see a rackmount version of the Sub 37 though, just don't take away the knob-per-function!

What I'm saying is that you wouldn't be able to use the ultraslim sub 37 without a Sub 37. ;)

All the knobs would be on the master Sub 37!

I see. Yeah, I'd be interested in something like that, as long as you could dial in and save patches on it for going multitimbral. I don't think it would sell very well though, seeing as how it would only appeal to those who own a Sub 37.

I don't know about that - if the serial #s indicate how many have sold, Moog are very quickly approaching 10,000 units!

I suggested this same idea awhile ago, and it was met with mixed reviews... But, I still think it's a good idea.

With no pots or displays they could make them slim and inexpensive (thinner than the slim phatty), maybe sell for around $500. Fully programmed to sync perfectly with all the controls on the main board. Then, we could add as many voices as we wanted to our Sub37 in just a few rack spaces. For another $1500, you could have a 4 voice Moog taking up very little real estate. They could call them, Slim Subs, or something more clever.

Please, tell me I'm not the only one who thinks this is a great idea.
