I can't seem to make Ableton recognize or record knob movements from my Sub 37, only pitch and note on/off! It works in Cubase 8...?
There's not much to fiddle with in the Ableton preferences, have you got it working?
Sub 37 & Ableton - Recognize & record knob movements?

Hi,
You probably have already checked in the Sub37's MIDI MENU > OUT FILTERS (3.3) if PANEL is set to ON
Here is a page about Automation in Live manual.

Works fine for me. The Sub37 is setup properly in the Live MIDI setup, right?XAXAU wrote:I can't seem to make Ableton recognize or record knob movements from my Sub 37, only pitch and note on/off! It works in Cubase 8...?

Panel is on!
I have the Sub 37 setup as an external instrument, is that correct?

Yes, external instrument. MIDI out to the Sub37, Audio In from whatever channel on your interface the Sub37 audio out is plugged into.XAXAU wrote:Panel is on!

Create a test MIDI clip, then double click the MIDI clip, click on the E with the circle around it to bring up the envelopes view and you should be able to specify any MIDI CC value here. Check the Sub's documentation for the proper MIDI CC to automate in your clip.

Ok the automation gets recorded when recording a new clip but what if I want to record CC to an existing clip in Ableton?ImNotDedYet wrote: Yes, external instrument. MIDI out to the Sub37, Audio In from whatever channel on your interface the Sub37 audio out is plugged into.
