I'm using an MF Delay with the Sub37 and think it sounds great, is easy to dial-in, and will power off a battery if needed. I actually have two, and use the other one with a Microbrute, and have successfully used CV to create modulated delays.

Also in play is a Hardwire Supernatural reverb pedal, so I got that going for me. Which is nice. 8)

Regarding the MiniFooger Delay's capability to use cv, here 's a quick demo using the Sub 37 and a Werkstatt plus the delay. The 37 controls the Werkstatt via MIDI, the Werkstatt is used as third oscillator for the 37 thru the external input and the Werkstatt's LFO controls the the delay time of the Fooger.

Dan, can you please give me some clue how to reproduce the sound you use from 10:56 till 13:36 in the video. It is an amazing sound!

I use a Boss DE 200 or a Roland SDE 2000.

Get the Strymon Timeline, it's the best delay ever made. The possibilities of it are endless

I have the Strymon Timeline so I will add another vote for it. However if I add the money I would also get the MoogerFooger 104M. Just picking up my Strymon Mobius from UPS this afternoon.

Hi Toine,

It's one of my favorite analog synth tricks, yet very simple.

I'm using a Sub 37 Preset I made called "For Your Echo 500ms".
(In the near future, I'm going to start releasing all my custom presets, one at a time, with informative notes.)

Use a single Oscillator, set to Sawtooth, and choose a very low Octave setting - high enough that you still hear it as a pitch, but low enough that you start to perceive its individual cycles as rapid clicks.

Then send it through a Low Pass Filter with enough Resonance such that, when you sweep the the Filter Cutoff, you can hear clicky pitches as you pass by each of the Sawtooth wave's harmonics.

Now run that into a stereo ping-pong delay set to around 500ms, and presto...

Then you can decide if you want to do the Filter Cutoff sweep via the knob, a Mod Wheel assignment, a Filter EG, an LFO, etc.

I've had good results with my el capistan, but my favourite is the good ol' re-201 ... here's an example:

I've been using a Line 6 POD HD Pro X for delays and other FX. I wouldn't have thought to get one for use with the Sub 37 but I already had it and it has worked out nicely so far. That being said I have been looking at dedicated analog and digital delays and wondering what more they might really add for me.

Previously stated was how awesome the memory man was for delay...I have a Behringer VM-1 which is a MM clone and I cannot rave enough about what a game changer it's been....really mellows out and "spacifies" my sub 37 tones...ambient yet present, so cool and super cheap...I preordered in January and just so happened to be browsing at the right moment when one appeared at a competitors, at which time I cancelled my existing and ordered what was in stock...the box came dusty and beatup, like it had fallen behind a shelf in the warehouse and someone just discovered it because when I checked the website again their were no more left...good luck, worth the search.

I tried first to go through a Line6 Pod2 for delay and reverb, but going through it to an Edirol UA-5 gave a very bad sound, weak and lifeless. I much prefer now to add delay and reverb in Reaper/Ableton/whatever DAW I use to record. In the meantime, I still ponder the buy of a Delay, analog (Mainly MF-104) or digital (Strymon Timeline). I know there are cheaper ones, CarbonCopy, TCE Flashback, and still wonder if the 104 is worth the money. Maybe I need to be educated about that.

And the Therevox ET-4 is calling, and the Nord Lead/Piano/Stage is calling, and... you know, gas gas gas.

Aaaah the Therevox... Calling me sometimes also :)

I've been re-discovering a classic (...) lately: Boss RE20 Space Echo emulation. I think I had kept it in a box because I looooooove my 104M... plus I may be caught in some sort of blind analogue frenzy, but it sounds good and is really alive. And this reverb... Seriously, at a point I kept it just for that.

Aaand I... took the plunge: I ordered a MF-104m.
It should be here around next week.
I paired it with a Strymon BigSky, and fear to be totally lost in sound for a long time :-).
