Happening to me also!!
So by reading you all in this post, the only way to fix that is to send it for repair? Really?
of course its out of the warranty...

I'm not very happy for my fisrt Moog to have this.. I had other problem with this synth...

I just discovered that my Octave knob for Osc 1 doesn't work all either, and this is the first hit when I googled for my problem.

Do I actually have to send this thing in to be fixed, or what's going on?

Hey guys,

Andy from Moog Tech Support here!

This does sound like a failure of the switch itself, but I have seen only a small number of Sub's out of the many thousand we have made ever have a problem like this. It will require the attention of a technician.

Thank you for the information, Andy! :D

Nathan was very helpful; got me sorted out and pointed in the right direction for getting the switch fixed. His help is very much appreciated.

I'm facing the same problem. OSC2 octave switch doesn't work. And also LFO form switch doesn't work too. I guess there is something wrong with the pots, or maybe some commutation problems. Anyone know how to fix it or maybe know where to find replacement?
The only switch I found that is similar to those in Sub Phatty is this one http://www.taiwanalpha.com/english/p_e_141.htm
If guys from tech support read this, please guys, help me out.

the fix is likely a panel board swap, not a replacement switch.

I wrote to all of them. If its about panel swap I hope they can send it to me so I can replace it with help of local engineer.
Or maybe panel can be fixed without swapping. Fingers crossed.

Hi guys,

Same story with my Sub Phatty.
I got it back from repair after several months, for filter cut-off knob cracking issue, and today this is the VCO1 octave selector switch which is not responding (sofware editor can change the octave range).

I use my synthesizers only a few time per week, or month, just as a hobby, I am surprised by the high rate of defect knob issue with the Sub Phatty. Seems like if there is no check of the MTBF, before to select the components. I got it since half and one year.

I am located in China, quite a nightmare to get satisfactory after sale service here.
What is the official way to repair it? Full board replacement? Switch replacement? or any other tips?

Thanks for any advice

Hi, I have the same problem with OSC2's octave selector.
@moog what is your advise on this?

Just to add some data for future reference:

In January 2019, I brought my Sub37 (bought in February 2016) to the service center to be upgraded to a Subsequent 37. The technician doing the upgrade contacted me because both octave knobs were dead and needed to be replaced as well. Although the Sub37 was still under warranty, I had to pay for the replacement because switches are considered "wear parts" and do generally not fall under warranty.

I used the Sub37 very rarely and if then mostly via the Editor, therefore I didn't experience the problem and have no idea when they broke. Anyway, they seem to break easily even when very rarely used.

I got one of the first SubPhatties delivered to Germany. And the two octave switch stopped working here too. I ordered new switches and hope to receive them within the next couple of days. I also ordered wooden side panels, as the original black ones are very sticky. And the left hand thumb wheels are also very sticky. I ordered a replacement for these too. Of cause, my SubPhatty is out off warranty for years, so I have to pay for the parts. But after all those years, it is still a nice synth.
keep on turning these Moog knobs

Sequence:
Prodigy * minimoog '79 * Voyager * MF102 * MF103 * MF104z * MP201 * Taurus 3 * Minitaur * Sub Phatty * MF105 * Minimoog 2017+ MUSE * One 16
