Sub 37 - Non-Tribute Edition?
Re: Sub 37 - Non-Tribute Edition?
Seems if it was limited in number they would say something, just like they did on the modular announcement. However, waiting around for a non-tribute version doesn't make a lot of sense IMO. What if there isn't a non-tribute edition and it's just end of production on the sub37? What if the non-tribute edition is $1299...would it really have been worth it to wait and save less than $300? Too many "what if"s in there to hold out on one of the best synths around if it remotely interests you at all. Did you see the video on the new firmware? Amazing synth just keeps getting better with the ongoing work from MOOG.

I want a non tribute so bad!
I got "limited" tribute edition but a white face and black back will be so much better on stage IMO
When???????

If it ever happens at all, it won't happen for a long time.Asymetrical wrote:Any updates if the non tribute will be made this summer?

Dan, you spoke too much, or not enough . You'll have to be much more precise than that.
Why a non tribute in this summer would not have a very long life? Do you know of new products from Moog to come?

I could have worded that more precisely:
"If it ever happens at all, it won't happen any time in the near future."

Re: Sub 37 - Non-Tribute Edition?
Why even bother with a non tribute edition? The Sub 37 is doing great and Moog can't keep up with the orders as it is. Use the effort to make the next version ... A Sub 44 or Sub 61
Re: Sub 37 - Non-Tribute Edition?
Right!
Sub61, a third oscillator, a FFB section, and a third mod section would do it for me

Re: Sub 37 - Non-Tribute Edition?
White Face plate on a dark stage is the biggest reason I want one.
What ever happened to the Tribute being Limited edition. Another reason I jumped on the boat early.....Early enough to get a shitty Sub37 broken straight out the factory.....Thank for the lies Moog!

Sub49, a third oscillator, FM and the high-end semi-weighted keyboard from Fatar would be the perfect synth for me!GregVDS wrote:Right!

Re: Sub 37 - Non-Tribute Edition?
I don't think it was lies. I think they just didn't know it was gonna be such a huge success. Makes sense on a business level to keep it going. if it was my business i would do the same. Why discontinue your biggest selling product.Thank for the lies Moog!
Moog Sub 37, DSI Mopho KB, Korg ms20 mini, Korg M50, Korg Karma, Yamaha Motif Xf6, Yamaha DX7, Novation K Station, Waldorf Blofeld, Siel DK80, cyclone analogic tt 303

Why not sell me two different colors?mattyp wrote:Why discontinue your biggest selling product.
I'm not saying stop the tribute edition but you do know it's limited edition right, which means moog says its gonna end.
If it doesn't end then that "Limited Edition" that made me jump on the boat was a "LIE"
There you have it.........

Most people buy an instrument because of it's capacity, functionality and sound....Asymetrical wrote:If it doesn't end then that "Limited Edition" that made me jump on the boat was a "LIE"mattyp wrote:Why discontinue your biggest selling product.
Nowadays a lot of people seem to think that companies only exist to fulfill their demands....

Limited to what? You're mad over marketing-speak.Asymetrical wrote: If it doesn't end then that "Limited Edition" that made me jump on the boat was a "LIE"

Limited edition could mean limited to people who can afford a $1500 synth.
You're presenting this as if you were bamboozled.
Re: Sub 37 - Non-Tribute Edition?
Well, he has a point - remember 2 unlimited and their 1993 hit "no limits"? That was no hyperbole or marketing spiel they truly were too unlimited and the song had absolutley no limits - even when they approached negative/positive infinity!! Try to bear this in mind when you consider whether or not you have been grossly misled and taken advantage of by buying in to Moogs hideous deceit. They should at least have the decency to precede the phrase "limited edition" with the word "probably" like carlsberg must.
