Sub Librarian/ Editor with Windows 8

Post by modoc_333 » Mon Mar 17, 2014 1:26 am

I have been running Windows XP, but it's time for a new laptop. I see that the instructions on the Sub Lib/Ed include Win7 but what about Windows 8? Is anyone here running their Sub Phatty Librarian/ Editor on Windows 8? I want to make sure it will work, but also curious if you have had any other experiences with it that are worth sharing. Thanks!

none? one issue i see is that the presets from the developers aren't available. i followed the instructions to show in explorer. now, i haven't had a chance to hook the synth up yet. will they show up once i do? or should i be able to find them without the Sub hooked up? Amos?

I'm running it on Windows 8 64 bit without any problems.

thank you! I am new to windows 8. The first step in the ReadMe for the Sub is to move the files for the presets. i don't seem to be able to find the destination folder. maybe it's just me not being smart enough or familiar enough with windows 8. haha! A little help?

OK, I found it! Maybe Amos could get this added to the next Readme so people in the future won't have to search so hard.

for windows 8.1 the destination to move the Beta Team file is:

>This PC > OS(C:) > Users > (User name) > AppData > Roaming > Moog Music Inc > Sub Phatty > Presets Library

I also have to add that Win8 is GREAT for the editor. I have a touchscreen laptop with it. It's really nice to be able to turn knobs on the screen. it makes it feel much more like actually touching the synth itself rather than using a mouse to control things. I strongly suggest it.

Thanks, I'll add this to the Readme.

The easiest way to find it is to right-click on the Presets Library folder within the editor itself and choose "Reveal in Explorer" from the menu that pops up. That takes you right to it. :)
