Is it possible to invert the LFO on the sub phatty?
I couldn't see anything in the manual.
If not, is the some way to suggest this? I presume it's possible to do.

not sure what you mean, but let me make some observations.woodfoot wrote:Is it possible to invert the LFO on the sub phatty?
- firstly the CV on the sub phatty's filter is always positive (unipolar, 0 +5V), unlike the slim which is -5/+5 (bipolar)
but most often this is not an issue, just turn the filter down a little, to offset it lower it. Sometime this is a pain, for example if you've tuned the filter and are playing it, then your modulations will move you off tune (high).
[update the filter responds very nicely to negative modulations, i've put -4.14V into it - fgc]
- but more practically, by inverting i think you would like to flip the shape of the modulation wave top to bottom, since the tri and pulse are symmetrical so you are done already, just wait a few micro seconds , then the saw and ramp are exactly this, the one sweeps down and jumps up and the other sweeps up and jumps down.
Does this help?
- lastly bipolar (zero crossings) offsets are very important for pitch modulation, at audio rates, which will produce nice FM metallic/bell sounds.

I know that this is of little consolation if you already own a Sub Phatty but, woodfoot wrote:Is it possible to invert the LFO on the sub phatty?
you can see from the SUB 37 front panel that it *will* have the ability to invert
both of the LFOs because all six of the LFO Amount knobs (AMT) are bi-polar.

For those of you wanting more LFO variety on the Sub Phatty,
have a look at the developments here: http://forum.moogmusic.com/viewtopic.php?f=7&t=20562
It seems like the sub phatty might just be (as people are saying) be the same voice architecture as the sub37
bipolar filter modulations are possible, maybe pitch too.
Oh for a WAVE CV in!
